Locality: Low range of mountains paralleling the Herlen River to the south.

Elevation: 960m.
Environment description: Mountain-grass steppe. Appears to be winter range for livestock; now empty. Soils appear to be brown chestnut soils of good fertility and high productivity. Aspect is south with slope of 10%.
Comment: Site No: E94-43. Many different species inhabit microsites formed by rocks and steep slopes that are relatively inaccessible to livestock. Dominant vegetation: Spiraea rubescens, Caragana microphylla.
