Narrative
Selected for columnar growth habit, abundant red single campanulate flowers, and overall health. Moderate sized flowering cherry that grows 7.8m high and 4.1m wide in 12 years. Red flowers emerge in mid to late March in Wash., D.C. Dark green leaves show resistance to insects and remain dark green throughout summer. In fall leaves change to yellow. Hardiness zone 6 to 9. Plants are best propagated by budding since rooting percentage is low.
