Environment description: Grazed. Slope 11-40%, aspect NW. 1/4 shade. Soil loam, pH 8.5+. Rainfall 475 mm. Seasonally dry, ravine. Vegetation closed, open evergreen scrub with closed ground cover. Surrounding veg. agriculture, dryland wheat.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Associated species: Dominant shrub species Calycatome villosum. Dom. herb/grass sp. couch, bermuda. Assoc. sp. Medicagos, Trifoliums, annual Phalaris, Hyparrhenia hirta.
