Environment description: Past grazed, now cultivated/protected. Slope 0-5%, aspect NE. Soil red sandy loam on calcareous schist/limestone, pH 9.5-10.0. Rainfall 350 mm. Moist, irrigation ditch. Vegetation closed, seasonal tall grass.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Associated species: Surrounding veg. degraded evergreen forest. Dominant tree species cultivated olive, Aleppo pine. Dom. shrub Zizyphus lotus. Dom. herb/grass clovers, couch grass. Assoc. sp. Chamaerops h., camel thorn, Retama sp., Lygeum sp., Ormi, Hyhi.
