Environment description: Grazed. Slope 11-40%, aspect W. Open.Hydromorphic loam,shale bedrock,pH 9.0. Rainfall 600-800 mm. Seasonally dry,lower slope.Vegetation closed seasonal tall grass.Surrounding veg. degrad. open evergreen dwarf scrub with closed ground cover.

Associated species: Dominant tree species Juniper. Dom. shrub spiney xerophytes. Dom. herb/grass sp. fescue, white clover. Assoc. sp. Juncus, Cyperus sp., perennial grasses.
