Environment description: Grazed. Slope 0-5%, aspect S. Area open. Soil heavy clay, pH 9.0. Rainfall 600 mm. Moist, stream terrace, drain into salt lake Ichkeul. Vegetation closed, seasonal tall grass. Surrounding veg. dryland wheat.

Associated species: Dominant herb/grass species couch, bermuda, Juncus sp. Assoc. sp. Agropyron sp., birdsfoot trefoil, annual clovers.
