Environment description: Past settlement, now roadway. Slope 0-5%, aspect S. Area open. Soil clay, vertisol, pH 9.0. Rainfall 525 mm. Seasonally dry, upper slope. Vegetation closed, seasonal broad-leafed herb veg. Surrounding veg. agriculture, dryland wheat.

Associated species: Dominant tree species olive. Dom. shrub sp. Calycatome villosum, Jujubier. Dom. herb/grass sp. couch, bermuda. Assoc. sp. Medicagos, clovers, Astragalus, Hedysarum.
