Developed for acid-soil tolerance. Maturity full season. Grains yellow semident to dent. Largely based on population from SA-3 and CIMMYT's experimental variety Across 7936. Shows heterosis with ICA line 239 and belongs to heterotic group of ICA line 240. Improved using full-sib selection, with progenies evaluated in acidic and nonacidic fertile soils. Agronomic characteristics similar to those of standard maize hybrids and open-pollinated cultivars grown in the tropics
