Narrative
Moderately rhizomatous, (1-3 dm per year), densely tillered, 120-160cm tall. Hexaploid (6x=42). Leaf sheaths glabrous, blades flat, 10 to 17mm wide, (17-21mm wide under irrigation), leaves basal and on culms, somewhat lax. Foliage varies from moderately glaucous (blue) to dark green. Spikes elongated, 20-40cm long. Spikelets 18-22mm long. Seeds large, (7.5g/1000 seeds). Very rapid germination. Resistant to cold (-35 C). Somewhat resistant to drought. Some lodging in irrigated fields. No reported losses to diseases or insects
