Elevation: 1150m.
Environment description: Hilly area on Mongolian Plateau. Sandy loam, some stones, good drainage, ph 6.4. Full sun, 45 deg. slope, 60 and 150 deg. aspect. Grassland with large rolling hills, 1/2 way up hill, many in draw. 50% ground cover. (PI 202)

Associated species: Associated with Stipa sp., Achnatherum sp., Caragana intramongolica, Leymus chinensis. (PI 202)
