Narrative
Medium to tall grass, growing to ca. 1.4m in height, with wide, lax leaves and stout rhizomes giving a conservative spreading habit. In open stands, forms dense, robust clumps of leafy stems. Inflorescences narrow and erect to open and lax. Includes both tetraploid (2n=28) and octoploid (2n=56) plants. Recommended for use in revegetation mixes in Alaska where recovery by native species is desired, or in artic, alpine, or coastal tundra regions where many commonly used cvs. may be difficult to establish and maintain.
