M. piperita type from an aquatica x spicata cross. A single hybrid from the cross of the Dutch strain of M. aquatica (10172) x 10157 (S1 selection of M. spicata having high menthone). This hybrid was saved since the quantitative amounts of the major constituents were somewhat similar to Mitcham. Strain is highly sterile, similar to the Mitcham cultivar.
