Delhi 61 was derived from a cross between the varieties Delcrest and Vamorr 50, back-crossed in the F2 to Delcrest. It has good tolerance to weather fleck, black root rot, and brown root rot. (Haslam and Povilaitis. 1962. Can J Plant Sci 42:212-3)
