Environment description: Plants growing in margins of cultivated fields and roadside on level to moderate slopes. Sandy loam soil with medium stones and good drainage. Plants growing with Pistacia, Sarcopoterium, Calycotome, Cistus. Transitional forms between var. subventricosa and var. biaristata, with many intermediates.
