Environment description: Plants growing on slopes on margins of cereal and vegetable fields. Reddish brown, Terra-rosa-like soil with few stones and good drainage. Plants growing with 3 other species of Aegilops in intermixed populations, Pistacia, Quercus, Pyrus, Cichorium, Onoporodon, Marrubium.
