Narrative
Can be expected to segregate in gender and stem length, diameter, and habit (varying from erect to prostrate). Fully fertile. Hermophroditism present. 2N=4X=40. Can be useful in widening the range of genetic variation in the morphology and adaptation of vegetable asparagus. Breeders of ornamentals might find it useful for developing novel types. F2 populations of Sib crosses 8271 (Ames 14940) and 8284 (Ames 14941) bulked.
