Environment description: Full sun, west aspect. loamy, well drained soil derived Full sun, west aspect. loamy, well drained soil derived from red slate. Medium high stoniness.
Comment: Assoc. veg. cornfields. Seeds and scions taken from 1 cultivated plant. Leaves, but not fruit look like P. Pashia Green- yellow fruit, ripens 1 week after storage. Ripe mid Ocober.

Narrative
Pyrus sp. 'Tan Chi II'. Both seed and scions collected from cultivated tree by M. Thompson and D. Brenner on 12 October, 1988 in Pakistan (Azad Kashmir Province, Muzaffarabad District) near town of Ganoor, about 3 km SW of Kwai. Tree growing at edge of a corn field in river valley at 1390 m elevation; Latitude 34 40' N, Longitude 73 28' E. Collectors note 'Leaves look like Pyrus pashia, but fruit does not. It is green to yellow, ripens after wone week of storage. Fruit is ready to harvest now (October 12). Soft and sweet when ready to eat.' - Collection notebook, 1988.
