Narrative
A pear selection developed by Lon Rombough of Aurora, Oregon as a seedling of cultivar Nijissiki in the early 1980s. He presumed it to be a hybrid with a European cultivar, however the tree as grown at the USDA genebank appears to be pure Pyrus pyrifolia. Named in honor of Albert Koyama.one of Mr. Rombough's mentors at the University of California, Davis.
