Narrative
'Olez 5' - Seed collected in the wild in Turkey by Hayati lez in November, 1963 and sent to Mel Westwood in Oregon. Collected at Derbent, Izmit. Low elevation, trees abundant. Fruit globular-acute-pyriform, small; stem long and medium thickness, cavity shallow, russeted; leaves oval, acute-rounded at base, crenate margins, acute tips. -- letter from lez to Westwood, 18 November, 1963.
