Narrative
'Olez 4' - Seed collected in the wild in Turkey by Hayati lez in November, 1963 and sent to Mel Westwood in Oregon. Collected at Derbent, Izmit. Low elevation, trees abundant. Fruit turbinate, small, stem short and medium thickness, cavity shallow and smooth; leaves ovate, rounded at base, serrate margins, acuminate tips; branches thorny. -- letter from lez to Westwood, 18 November, 1963.
