Narrative

Plants spiny with spines on leaf tips, leaf margins, and involucral bracts. Flowers yellow. Height about 51.3cm under dryland conditions. Seeds with white normal hull (95%). Birdseed type. Sclerenchyma reduction variable, (appears blotchy) mostly under high moisture conditions. Test weight high 32.9kg/ha. Oil content 41.3%. Iodine number 147. Linoleic acid content 80%. Resistant to Alternaria leaf spot, Pseudomonas bacterial blight. Intermediate resistance to Sclerotinia head rot. Some resistance to head rot.
