Narrative
Subshrub, erect, 0.3-1m tall. Roots deep, penetrating. Stem under surface of leaves, and calyces densely wooly. Inflorescence many flowered, spike-like raceme. Flowers tiny, purple, one-petaled. Highly palatable. Adapted to upland prairie soils in Kansas and Oklahoma and probably extends through Nebraska and east to central Missouri. Drought tolerant.
