Narrative
Tree, small, compact to 10m. Branches ascending, deep red. Leaves red in spring and fall. Flowers pink. Fruit bright red, .94-1.46cm. Used as shrub in single row windbreaks, rural roadside beatification, wildlife food and cover planting and for plantings in recreational developments. Adapted to sandy loam, loamy sand and gravelly soils throughout midwest except western North and South Dakota.
