Narrative
Large, fleshy root. Leaves rounded and somewhat waxy. Fruits green, rind soft yet tough. Flesh bitter. Seeds dark brown, collected by local people, treated with lime water to remove bitterness, toasted and eaten. Resistant to Diabrotica beetles feeding on fruits.
