Snow 40cm, deepest 1.3m. Minimum temp. -20C. Shrub deciduous large, up to 7m tall. Branches many, lustrous, strongly lenticellate. Leaves green above, impressed veins, lighter green beneath, shiny. Growing in low swampy place in woodland. Seed collected from several plants.
