Snow 1-2m per annum. Minimum temperature -l7C. Shrub deciduous, 2.5m tall. Canes strongly spiney, leafy stems with few spines. Leaves light green above, glaucous beneath. Hips orange-red, lustrous, nearly globose. Seed from plant moved from the wild.
