Narrative
Plants 3-4 m tall, often in huge clumps over 0.3 m diameter. Stems often 30 or more. Rhizomes many, 1-3 cm long. Peducles of cobs 1 to 60 cm long. Seeds reportedly collected for sale as forage plants.
