Narrative
Slender climbing vine. Fruit oblong, 4.5cm diam., 6cm long, smooth, base dark green with white stripes, apex white, partially dehiscent at apex along 3 sutures. Seeds embedded in chambered papery placental tissue, flat, dark brown, 0.9cm long. Locally called Calabazade raton. Tendrils, strongly climbing, not sprawling. Dioecious. Night-flowering (flowers open shortly after sunset). Self-fertile. Short-day sensitive.
