Narrative
Densely tufted perennial. Culms 50 to 90cm high, erect, nodes conspicuously bearded. Leaf blades up to 2mm wide, rolled at first, later expanded. Inflorescence a narrow panicle. Spikelets with long hairs mainly on upper part. Disturbed veld between main road and electric transformer station. Very shallow, poor, granite sandveld soil.
