Narrative
Warm-season, tufted bunchgrass. Growth habit upright. Foliage dark green with basal and cauline leaves, 5-10mm wide and 25-50cm long at maturity. Foliage height average .70-.90m with seed stalks reaching lengths of 1.25 - 1.75m. Central axis of panicle longer than longest raceme with outer glumes distinctly pitted. Sparse glandular hairs on upper leaf surface which emits a strong aromatic odor when foliage is crushed.
