Narrative
The line is used by numerous genticists under the name Oe. hookeri in many papers and is in use as a reference stock for the standard arrangements of chromosome arms in the genus Oenothera. It is NOT identical with the taxon. species that is now renamed as Oe. elata. In the genet. lit. it is therefore referred as Oe. hookeri "de Vries". Propagated by controlled self pollination. For breeding: Pollem of flower on its own style, isolation of flowers by paper bags to avoid contamination. Id from Prof. Harte's seed bk, Cross No. 19 made in 1991
