Narrative
Walnut 128 rootstock paradox. Reported to be J. regia L X j. nigra L. Frost resistant. Chico source tree was evaluated in the 1969 timeframe with the following results: High yield; midseason harvest; 34mm diameter; Payne shape; Very good separation of kernel; Good shell seal; 58 percent kernel; kernel weight 6.8 grams; light amber kernel.
