Narrative
Seedlings DJUG 133, 139, and 145 share the same PI Number. Walnut 133 rootstock paradox. 'Detskij'. Average nut weight 9.5 grams; kernel output 52.1 percent; oil content 66.4 percent; protein content 21.6 percent. Tree survives -33 degrees Celcius. Chico source tree of seedling DJUG 133 was evaluated in the 1969 timeframe with the following results: Medium yield; late harvest season; 34mm diameter; Franquet shaped nut; Good separation of kernel; shell seal good; 47 percent kernel; Kernel weighs 5.6 grams; Light amber kernel color. Chico source tree of seedling DJUG 139 was evaluated in the 1969 timeframe with the following results: Medium yield; Midseason harvest; 37mm diameter; Payne shaped nut; Good separation of kernel; Good shell seal; 57 percent kernel; Kernel grams 7.4; Light amber kernel color. Chico source tree of seedling DJUG 145 was evaluated in the 1969 timeframe with the following results: Low yield; Midseason harvest; 38mm diameter; Payne shell shape; Fair/good separation of kernel; Good shell seal; 53 percent kernel; Kernel weight 2.0 grams; Light kernel color.
