Narrative
Prostrate monoecious annual; leaves 2-4 inches long, similar to C. ficifolius, deeply cut into 5-7 obovate-round toothed lobes, scabrous on both surfaces; ovary echinate with short stiff prickles; fruit oblong 2 inches long on stout, curved, peduncle 3-5 inches long, rounded at both ends, smooth, glabrous except for few scattered prickles; seeds 0.18 inch long, elliptic-oblong, pale brown, smooth, margins rounded. Small fruyit type. Originally from Northern Rhodesia.
