Narrative
This may be an unusual domesticated form of Setaria pumila, based on seed shape. The seeds are non-shattering and pale. It resembles cultivated Setaria italica. Comment by David Brenner May 2007. In a May 2009 examination it was observed to have three bristles per spiklet (like S. italica), but the true seeds are more rounded than the seeds of S. italica that it was compared to. More study is needed before the species determination is changed (David Brenner).
