Comment: The evidence for an origin in Sudan is that PI 562151 which may be the same accessions and was received at the same time is reported in GRIN to come from Sudan. This may be wrong but is is the best theory (David Brenner 2010).

Narrative
The plants grown in 2009 in Ames, Iowa had large 5 mm spikelets and 3 mm seeds. They are un-awned and mostly non-shattering. So they seem to be a cultivated grain type.
