Narrative
A leafy, turf-type perennial ryegrass producing persistent, dense, attractive, low-growing turf of a bright, dark green color. Has good resistance to the large brown patch disease incited by Rhizoctonia solani, the winter leaf spot disease caused by Drechslera, and many races of crown rust. Excellent performance in full sun and light to moderate shade. Useful for winter overseeding of dormant warm season turfs. Should not be used for pasture or forage as endophyte-containing feed may adversely affect animal health and performance.

Pedigree
Description:
Plants selected from Central Park in New York City, NY, were the original maternal source of the Lolium endophyte present. A plant selected from PI 231597 (Greece) was the donor parent in a modified backcrossing program. The third backcross involved large numbers of unrelated turf-type ryegrasses as recurrent parents, including plants selected from Manhattan, Citation, and Pennfine and other turf-type perennial ryegrasses selected from old turfs in Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.
