Type = Plum. Per Evaluation of Introduced Plum Varieties (see citation): "A seedling of Early Tours raised by Thomas Rivers of Sawbridgeworth, England about 1834. Fruit Characteristics: Size - Diameter 3.6cm, length 3.5cm; Shape - Roundish to round compressed opposite suture; Skin - Mostly purple, some yellow-green, medium bloom; Flesh - Green; Flavor - Sugar low, acid very low; Soluble solids - 18.4%; Quality - Very poor; Stone - Free; Yield - Medium; Season - Second week of August. Comments: Fruit is dry, coarse, stringy, very poor flavor and quality."
