Narrative
Valley Gold (NCX 754), muskmelon, round fruits with flat ends, hard rind, easy slip, slightly sutured, well covered netting, solid cavity, deep salmon flesh color with high sugar. Plants are resistant to Fusarium Wild (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis Sydn. and Hans.) and tolerant to crown blight. Most similar to Topmark. Andromonoecious vine, adapted to the Southwest, 96 days from seeding to harvest. Fruit 15 x 15 cm, 1264 grams, round, netted with conspicuous blossom scar, ribs present (10 ribs per fuit 55 mm width at medial, netted); sutures medium. Fruit absciss when ripe.
