Narrative
A cherry plum and Satsuma cross. A red-fleshed cherry plum, good for cooking and for jam. Propagated easily from cuttings. Meaty; vigorous tree; productive; healthy/fair quality; medium-small. Per Evaluation of Introduced Plum Varieties (see citation): "Fruit Characteristics: Size - diameter 4cm, length 3.5cm; Shape - roundish to round; Skin - reddish purple, light bloom; Flesh - red, medium firm to firm; Flavor - sugar low, acid low; Quality - poor to fair; Stone - semicling, medium small; Yield - heavy; Season - first two weeks of July. Comments: Attractive, fair size, but rather flat and tasteless."
