Narrative

Duplicate of Kieffer (PI 541714) based on SNP data (Montanari et al. 2020). Pyrus sp. 'Nak I'. Scions collected from cultivated tree by M. Thompson and D. Brenner on 23 November, 1988 in Pakistan (Northwest Frontier) near village of Baghderai (about 45 km north of Mingora). Tree growing on the grounds of Baghderai Hotel. Located in a river valley at 1250 m elevation; Latitude 35 01' N, Longitude 72 28' E. Collectors note 'The word 'Nak' may refer to a certain type of pear, but it is not clear as there were at least four different pears called 'Nak'.' - Collection notebook, 1988.
