Locality: About 80 km from Katmandu on the road to Pokhara, in Basai District.
Environment description: In a garden setting.
Comment: The one plant collected was white seeded, and 2 m tall. The original collector's seed sample included some black seeds. Only white seeded plant among a highly diverse group of A. hypochondriacus, including one over 3 m tall.

Narrative
The seeds are white, flowers green, leaves green. The RRC class type is: Nepal. The local name is: 'Latte.' It was unbranched, leaning and lodging. Most of the plants did not mature in the field at RRC. Observations from the Rodale Research Center, 1988 Rodale Amaranth Germplasm Catlaog. Emmaus, PA. Seed shipped with closing of Rodale Amaranthus program.
