Shrub, 1.0m tall. Spines 3cm. Pod inflated and hard, 1.5cm long. Can grow 2.0m tall. Grazed by goats and camels. Use with care in the US. Used in PRC as living fence. Obtained in a pasture used spring, autumn and winter. Associated species include Phragmites and Salsola.
