Narrative
Broadleaf evergreen shrub with a dense, broad-oval habit. 3 to 4 feet in height with a 5 foot spread in 15 years. Slow to medium growth rate; typically less than 6 inches annually. Attractive medium-green foliage in summer, developing a slight bronze tint in winter. USDA Hardiness Zone 4 (possibly better). Plants under evaluation withstood record low temperatures (-22 F to -37 F) with no dieback in the winter of 1993-94.
