Narrative
True breeding, salad type root vegetable derived from cross (colchicine treated chinese cabbage x red cabbage) x rutabaga. White flesh of roots is fine grained and sweet when eaten raw. Will be much interest to home gardeners and may find commercial use in ready-to-eat mixed salads put up in poly bags. Requested by D.D. Dolan 1/19/66. Some say tastes like a coconut, has very high sugar content. Roots will get as big as a male's head even in dry year. Drought tolerant.
