The seeds are dark brown, flowers mixed, leaves mixed. The RRC class type is: mixed. Escaped cultivation crop x weed hybrids. Observations from the Rodale Research Center, !988 Rodale Amaranth Germplasm Catalog. Emmaus, PA. In the RRC field book of 1980 regarding a planting from 1978 seeds: This is a mess with segregating types. The seeds segregate for black, gold, and brown.
