Environment description: Plants growing by an irrigation channel in partial shade
Comment: Exploration for Rubus Germplasm in Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China. A China-USA Collaborative Project with the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Guizhou Botanical Garden and the USDA-ARS-National Clonal Germplasm Repository-Corvallis. Very luxuriant, very productive plant due to favorable growing conditions. Laterals on floricanes 0.5 to 0.7 m long Fruit is produced in terminal clusters and also in axils of leaves. On 3 laterals there were 57, 73,and 104 frts/cluster

Narrative
Fruit was mostly immature but the few mature fruits were black, with a bloom, and good tasting. Seeds collected from one plant, and herbarium specimens with flowers and immature fruit.
