Environment description: open rocky slope beside road with scattered shrubs
Comment: Exploration for Rubus Germplasm in Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China. A China-USA Collaborative Project with the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Guizhou Botanical Garden and the USDA-ARS-National Clonal Germplasm Repository-Corvallis. Plants 1.2 m to 1.5 m high with arching canes, to 2.0 to 2.5 m long. mature fruits purple-black, with bloom, drupelets adhere to each other and detach from receptacle. Good taste. Collected and eaten by local people. Seeds only collected.
