Environment description: Very steep mountains, heavily vegetated Near Hei Wan River, with other Rubus sp.
Comment: Exploration for Rubus Germplasm in Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China. A China-USA Collaborative Project with the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Guizhou Botanical Garden and the USDA-ARS-National Clonal Germplasm Repository-Corvallis. Plants upright, to 2 m, with relatively few primocanes. Several plants seen, particularly in this region. Fruit large, red, with hollow center and many, small drupelets. Seeds from few plants. Herbarium specimen with fruit coll.
