Environment description: Very steep mountains, heavily vegetated Near Hei Wan River, with other Rubus sp.
Comment: Exploration for Rubus Germplasm in Guizhou Province, People's Republic of China. A China-USA Collaborative Project with the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Guizhou Botanical Garden and the USDA-ARS-National Clonal Germplasm Repository-Corvallis. Plants upright, to 2 m, with relatively few primocanes Mature, large, red fruit with large hollow center and many small drupelets, edible. Several plants seen, primarially in this region. Seeds and herbarium specimens collected.
